"Benroe Wrinkles was an over-13 inch-class hound himself, but in fact many of his best get have been medium-sized or small type.
Wrinkles proved himselfa most outstanding sire, producing numerous Champions. His immediate progeny and indeed all his decendants are easily recognizable, inheriting great quality, flashy colouring and markings, much style and showmanship, as well as other desirable attributes.
Notes by Mrs. Patricia Sutton:
"Today I will look at the last of the imports from the late 50's that was a real influence in improving the breed. Mrs Gladys Clayton and her very successful Barvae kennel had produced many Champions in the 50's the most well known was Ch. Barvae Statute owned and shown by Mr F. Watson. Followed by Ch. Barvae Paigan these two produced a raft of champions for other breeders when used on their bitches.
Mrs Clayton looked to Canada for her import and brought over Barvae Benroe Wrinkles, a son of the famous Can. & Am Ch Thornridge Wrinkles, sire of over 90 Northern American Champions. He immediately made an impact as a sire, and over time produced many
Champions."

David Craig: "Looking at the photograph, I'm always struck by what a handsome hound he is.
Mrs Clayton deserves great credit for her foresight and effort (long before emails etc. so correspondence must have been via letter) in discovering him and bringing him over for the UK Beagle's benefit. I see he was the sire of Ch Dialynne Huntsman, the first in line of an
exceptionally prolific line of stud dogs for Dialynne."
Patricia Sutton: "Yes indeed, Gamble's mother Ch Dialynne Nettle was the result of a half brother - half sister mating, both being by Ch Dialynne Huntsman and of course he was by the import Barvae Benroe Wrinkles. So Gamble was the result of mostly American imports."
