"This hound was bred by the president of the North Hertfordshire Beagles, Mrs. K. M. Watt, JP. A light tri-colour hound, he had a dudley nose which led most judges to miss his other dominant fault. In spite of the artistry of the photographer the slightly low set-on stern can be seen. This huond typifies all that is right in the construction of the body with width and great depth of chest and the round bone so rarely seen anywhere today. His foreface could have been stronger but his reach of neck and lay-back of shoulder could not be equalled. The ultra shortness of the couplings is also a point worthy of note."
